Father Lassalle, an A-Bomb survivor, was propelled to build a cathedral as a prayer for peace. With support from around the world, the World Peace Cathedral in Hiroshima was completed exactly four years after construction began on August 6, 1954.
Hiroshima City is built on the Ota River delta in one of the most sheltered harbors on the Seto Inland Sea. The city enjoys the mild climate provided by its position in the Seto Inland Climate Zone. (Read More: City Walk)
